453 mandals in 16 districts facing dry spells

HYDERABAD: The state government has decided to declare drought-affected mandals after receiving reports from districts collectors. At present, as many as 453 mandals in 16 districts have recorded dry spells.Revenue and relief minister N Raghuveera Reddy convened a meeting on Saturday at the Secretariat to review the prevailing drought conditions with senior officials.The revenue minister ordered districts collectors to send crop-wise district reports for necessary action on damage of crops incurred by farmers.
