9 held for post-cricket group clash

CHENNAI: Nine persons were arrested in connection with a group clash after a cricket match at Madipakkam on Monday. Police said two groups, led by Saravanan (22) of MGR Nagar, Ullagaram and Duraisamy of Gandhi Nagar, Keelkatalai clashed at a playground at Keelakatalai last week over occupying the ground for a cricket match.On Saturday, Duraisamy and his friends beat up Saravanan. The two groups entered into a fight, police said. Based on a complaint, the police arrested nine of them and are on the lookout for four others.
