BANGALORE: Nine persons were injured in a fire accident caused by leakage of gas at a shed in Vishwanath Nagenahalli on Thursday morning. The police said that the incident may have occurred because of a worn out rubber pipe connecting the stove and the cylinder. The shed was occupied by five persons hailing from Rajasthan who are working as carpenters in the city. On Wednesday night they were joined by five relatives. On Thursday morning, while the rest were sleeping, one of them lit the stove and this may have caused the gas leak. Soon, the room caught fire all of them, the police gave details. While they managed to douse the fire and even call the ambulance, all nine of them suffered injuries. Three out of them are severely injured and are battling for life at Victoria Hospital, the police said. Mahaveer, 35 years, has suffered 80 percent burns and the rest are suffering from 20-35 percent burns. Police have registered a case in this regard and are further investigating.
