A tribute to why this Kolaveri di

CHENNAI: There have been many, many versions of Dhanush’s Kolaveri Di song that have gone viral on the Internet. However, one recent version of the song has been grabbing all the eyeballs on social networking sites this week. Popular rap artiste BlaaZe has released his tribute to the song from the Aishwarya-Dhanush directed film 3. Calling his tribute Why this Kolaveri…why not?, BlaaZe considers it to be a mark of respect to Dhanush, his  career and his success. “It is a very sincere effort, trying to talk about Dhanush as a human being. He got a national award and got respect for that from the rest of the world but didn’t get what he deserves over here,” says BlaaZe. BlaaZe admits that he didn’t want to initially jump on to doing what everyone else was doing. But after the success of the song, he could not resist the temptation of joining the bandwagon. “I didn’t want to rip off the original and do the same thing that a million others were doing. So, Paul Jacob (music producer) suggested that I do a tribute and that was what was interesting to me.” In the tribute song, BlaaZe goes on to declare that he is proud of Dhanush for putting Tamil and Tamil Nadu on the world map. Well, we do suppose that it could be one way of looking at the song that even got the actor invited to the Prime Minister’s residence for a meal with foreign delegates!
