KOZHIKODE: The creative minds on the campuses in the state have got a new platform to exhibit their literary and other creative initiatives —www.kalalayam.in. Launched by the Kerala State IT Mission, the website is already a big hit among the students in the state who are eager to nurture their flair for writing. Poems, short stories, and articles written by the students are published on the website.As many as 25 colleges affiliated to Kerala, Kannur, Calicut, Cochin and MG Universities have already joined the website. Information including history, phone number and address can be displayed in the site beside uploading photos and details of functions held in the campus. Articles filed by each college will come under the colleges name on the website. The website allow colleges to create separate blogs where they can publish forthcoming programmes and desired articles.An editorial team, including student coordinators and teachers, is leading the activities of each college, who ensure the quality of articles before publishing on the site.The portal was designed by the IT Mission team headed by Mission coordinator S V Biju a few years back. According to the officials, another aim of the project is to resolve the scarcity of Malayalam sites. The project is expected to be extended to the schools in the second phase with the help of IT@School project coordinators.
