BANGALORE: A convict, who had come out on parole in 2008 and allegedly absconding, has been arrested by the Jnanabharathi police.Initially, the police did not know that he was a convict and was again sent to prison after people informed the police that he was a convict. The convict has been identified Shankar (36), a resident of Bhuvaneshwarinagar in Jnanabharathi and a native of Mysore.Shankar was convicted in a kidnapping case and had come out on parole for a fortnight in April 2008 after citing that his sister was ill.But instead of returning to the prison, he was allegedly absconding. The police said that a person had filed a threatening case against Shankar and he was arrested in connection with it.Even in that case, he got the bail on the condition of visiting the the police station regularly.Meanwhile, the police were tipped off that Shankar was absconding since 2008.They contacted the prison authorities and verified the details about Shankar’s antecedents.During his visit to the station, the police arrested him and sent him back to the prison.“We had called the prison staff to identify Shankar and after they confirmed that it was the same person who was absconding after going out on parole, he was arrested,” the police officials added.Further investigations are on
