BANGALORE: The much awaited Karnataka Institute of Diabetology (KID) which was trapped in governmental red tapism and witnessed land acquisition hurdles for more than three years will finally be set up at the five acres of land at old Madras road. Currently housed in the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, the new KID at T B Sanatorium campus, Old Madras road will have 13-storey building with all facilities for diabetic care.Speaking on the unveiling of new campus of KID,  Minister of Medical Education S A Ramdas said that government would send a proposal to the parliament to enact a law, which will make it mandatory for doctors to serve in rural areas during the coming winter session. “If this law is implemented, there will be at least 5860 doctors to serve the rural areas,” said Ramdas.
