Air India denies boarding passes to several passengers, claims flight was overbooked
The incident has been brought to the notice of higher authorities at the Air India but a response is awaited.

In more trouble for Air India, several passengers travelling on the Chennai-Delhi flight were denied boarding passes on Thursday. The passengers were informed at the counter that they could not be accommodated as the flight was overbooked.

The incident has been brought to the notice of higher authorities at the Air India but a response is awaited. However, the passengers left behind have been rebooked on a flight later in the day.

This incident comes even as Air India is already in the dock over a mishap in which a technician of Air India was killed after he was sucked into a plane engine at Mumbai Airport on Wednesday night.

The incident took place around 9 pm at Bay No. 28. The technician, who was apparently standing close to the Mumbai-Hyderabad AI 619 flight, got sucked inside the engine and died instantly.

Sources said that the accident occurred as the plane's parking brakes were not deployed due to which the plane moved forward leading to the death of a ground staff.

What's your reaction?
