Final year student Chandramohan and Venkat Rao were arrested.
New Delhi: An art student of Vadodra's MS University, Chandramohan, has sent a legal notice to the University asking for the release of his withheld marksheet and degree certificate. In May last year, Chandramohan was in the firing line of VHP activists.
He was accused of hurting the religious sentiments of Christians and Hindus through his paintings that were part of the fine arts practical exam.
The controversial painting had led to vandalism in MS university by VHP supporters; many staff and students were assaulted.
Final year student Chandramohan and Venkat Rao were arrested. Prof Shivji Panikkar, Dean of the faculty was also suspended without framing charges or following procedure on May 10, 2007.
