As it happened, World Chess Championship: Viswanathan Anand vs Magnus Carlsen, Game 3
Despite a gruelling contest that lasted for hours, no result was possible even in the third game, which Anand played with black pieces.

After measuring each other up with two back-to-back draws, Viswanathan Anand and Magnus Carlsen are expected to play a bit more openly in Game 3.

Earlier on Saturday, Anand started his title defence playing with black pieces but held the world number one Carlsen to a draw.

In the second game, Carlsen showed that he was made of sterner stuff and pulled back the attention on himself with an easiest of draws. This time Anand played with white pieces.

If the deadlock continues and the scores are still tied after 12 games, games of shorter duration will be played to determine the winner.####
