At Spastic Society, Fungama over Joy of Giving

CHENNAI: The day-long ‘Joy of Giving’ and entertainment programme for the 500- odd children at the Spastic Society created a colourful atmosphere. In an attempt to rejuvenate the children’s activities and spread the message of Joy of Giving, the society celebrated ‘FUNGAMA’ event partnering with Isha Homes CSR initiative.Charity begins at home was the crux of the event as the workers of Isha foundations took utmost care and managed the event with a smile. In a busy weekday a group of workers from Isha took part in the event. The day started with cartoon movies screening and later magic show were staged during the event. In order to inculcate the creative skills, drawing competitions were conducted. Children participated in the event with a sense of joy. Interestingly, the organisers arranged to host a friendly cricket match between the Isha and Spastic team to entertain the crowd present there. During this senior students from the society took part and won the game. “Grabbing the right opportunity to share our joy with the children was God’s gift,” Suresh Krishnan, MD, Isha Homes, said. Joy of giving is not restricted to a week, but it must become a year-long celebration. On behalf of Isha, Suresh Krishnan gifted a laptop and LCD projector to the society to meet their academic and training requirement.Jayashree, director of Spastic society, said the corporate must include the joy of sharing in their DNA. Running a company in today’s environment is not an easy task, but it becomes necessary to look beyond the materialistic world, she said.Cine actress Hasini took part in the closing ceremony to distribute prices to event winners.
