BCCI may take action against Dalmiya
Dalmiya has been accused of misappropriating funds related to the 1996 World Cup that was hosted jointly by Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka.

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to recommend action against its former president Jagmohan Dalmiya at the meeting of it's working committee on Sunday.

Dalmiya is accused of misappropriating funds for 1996 World Cup which was hosted jointly by Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka.

Dalmiya, a member of the BCCI working committee by virtue of being the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal, is unlikely to attend the meeting.

About a month back Dalmiya had claimed that BCCI had dropped all charges of financial irregularities levelled against him.

He said that a letter sent to him by the board had dropped all those allegations made against him in connection with the 1996 World Cup.

"On February 27 I had given my response to the BCCI. The same day it sent me a letter but strangely the letter did not contain allegations regarding the financial irregularities. It dealt mainly with matters related to the technical side of the administration," he said.
