Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay Retires, Appointed Adviser To CM Mamata Amid Tussle with Centre

West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay retired, effective from Monday afternoon and appointed as the chief adviser to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The development comes amid a huge showdown between Centre and the state after Banerjee skipped a review meeting on Cyclone Yaas with Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week.
