Bid to blackmai Power Minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Museum Police on Tuesday nabbed two persons who tried to blackmail Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed. The accused were identified as Sajeesh Krishna and Eby Paul of Palakkad. The police said that the accused, along with two others, Satheesh Krishna andRaveendran, had visited the minister posing themselves as representatives of a foreign company named Avaco Electricals and held  talks on conducting business of the company’s electrical equipment with the state government.  They recorded the video of the talks with the Minister using a miniature camera hidden inside a wrist watch worn by one of them. Later, they edited the video and superimposed audio, in which they used a mimicked sound of the minister bargaining for commission for the business. They then produced a video CD with the edited visuals and demanded ` 25 lakh, if did not want the CD to be released in public. However, the police tricked the fraudsters into their trap and nabbed them. They were produced before the court and remanded injudicial custody.
