BJP gung-ho on ensuring Advani Yatras success

BANGALORE: The state BJP unit is geared up to ensure the success of party patriarch leader L K Advani’s rally against corruption, Jan Chethna Yatra, in Karnataka.State party unit general secretary and Lok Sabha member Prahlad Joshi informed the media here on Monday that the rally would enter Karnataka on October 30. He said that Advani will address the public on October 30 in Bangalore.Advani would also address the public at Mangalore and Udupi on October 31 and Kumata and Honnavar the following day, before heading to Goa. In order to mobilise people for the programme, party leaders have decided to take out ‘mini Yatras’ in four districts where Advani’s Yatra would pass through.“Advani, through the Rath Yatra, wants to exert pressure on the UPA government to take recover to the country the huge amounts of black money stashed away in foreign banks. The yatra will also aim at highlighting the dire need to ensure clean governance,” he detailed.Joshi defended the state party unit’s decision to organise Advani’s meeting when several BJP ministers are facing graft charges. Earlier, state BJP president K S Eshwarappa launched a website on the Jan Chethna Yatra and a party e-newsletter.“This is the first such initiative by any political party and is likely to emulated by the BJP national unit,” he said.
