BMW hit-and-run: SC to decide on plea against Nanda
The Delhi Police had filed an application for enhancing main accused Sanjeev Nanda's punishment.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court is expected to deliver its judgement in the 1999 BWM hit-and-run case, based on a plea filed by the Delhi Police. They had filed an application for enhancing punishment to main accused Sanjeev Nanda.

The apex court had reserved its verdict on a plea against the Delhi High Court order, which had reduced Sanjeev Nanda's sentence from five years to two years.

The Supreme Court had on Wednesday acquitted three co-accused in the BMW hit-and-run case, saying there were discrepancies in the evidence put forward against them.

A bench of justices Deepak Verma and KS Radhakrishnan had set aside the trial court and the Delhi High Court concurring verdicts convicting businessman Rajeev Gupta and his two employees Bhola Nath and Shyam Singh.
