Botcha, Chiru plan joint public meetings in AP

HYDERABAD: In a bid to strengthen the Congress and to have better coordination between the Congress and PRP cadre, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana and former PRP chief K Chiranjeevi will hold massive public meetings in various `zones’ of the state.The first such meeting will be held at Guntur on September 18.Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy may also attend some of the meetings, or will undertake separate tours to address the public.According to party sources, the meetings in zones covering three or four districts will be attended by Botcha and Chiranjeevi.Initially, the zones in the Andhra and Rayalaseema regions will be covered with one public meeting each month.Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Anantapur, Kurnool and Guntur have almost been finalised as venues of meetings.No decision has yet been taken on meetings in Telangana in view of the movement for separate statehood.Meanwhile, the PCC chief will go ahead with his district tours as per schedule.After touring East Godavari, he will proceed to Vijayawada on Friday on two-day tour of Krishna district.
