Bokaro: In a case of suspected honour killing, a school student was beaten to death allegedly by brothers of his girlfriend when he visited her house at Sector-3 in the Bokaro Steel Plant Colony.
Virat Vidya, a class XII student of Bokaro Public School, had been to his girlfriend Nupur's house on Friday when her brothers spotted him and severely beat him before dropping him near his residence, Superintendent of Police Saket Kumar Singh said.
The victim's body was recovered on Saturday at Sector-4 after a guard informed the nearest police station, Singh said.
The four brothers, who have been arrested, had confessed that their sister had tried to protect Vidya from being assaulted, he said.
The officer, however, did not answer when reporters asked him if the angle of honour killing would be probed.
