BSY scapegoat of mining report

BANGALORE: Bangalore North BJP MP D B Chandre Gowda described the Lokayukta report on illegal mining as “seriously flawed” which suffered from “legal infirmities” and “laced with ulterior motives”.“There is a dire need to make a thorough review of the report which would remove the cloud of suspicion hovering over former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa. I am of the view that he (Yeddyurappa) has been made a scapegoat through this report,” Chandre Gowda to ld reporters here on Saturday.He released a booklet prepared by three advocates which argues that the entire Lokayukta report seemed to have been prepared with the sole ulterior motive of tarnishing Yeddyurappa’s image and engineer a crisis within the BJP state government.“Principles of natural justice has not been followed before preparing the report as no opportunity was given to then chief minister to present his version. I am surprised that the privilege enjoyed by class IV employees of getting their comments before making a remark in their service register was not provided to Yeddyurappa. This, along with the fact that the report was leaked, makes the entire exercise questionable,” Gowda explained.Gowda, who has served as law minister as well as speaker of the Assembly, said that a careful perusal of the documents of the day and circumstances surrounding the decisions made by the former CM proves that he was indicted just on presumption.
