A designated CBI court issued summons to Jayalalithaa and two others in connection with the birthday gift case.
Chennai: A designated CBI court on Wednesday issued summons to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and two former AIADMK ministers in connection with the Rs two crore birthday gift case.
They have been asked to appear in court on September 14.
The summons were issued by special CBI judge, V Meenakshisundaram. The two former ministers, K A Sengottaiyan and Azhagu Thirunavukkarasu are co-accused in the case.
The case relates to Jayalalithaa allegedly receiving 89 Demand Drafts from 59 persons on her birthday in 1992, when she was Chief Minister of the state.
