New Delhi: India's first ATP tournament, the Chennai Open, is all set to woo a worldwide audience from its next edition in early 2007, as television channels across the world will make it reach out to over a billion people.

While Indian sporting network Zee Sports has the telecasting rights for the tournament in the subcontinent, Canal+ of Spain and other broadcasting majors like SNTV, FOX TV and Trans World Sports will air the event to a global audience.

Viasat will bring the tournament to Scandinavia, and Bet & Win will tap German audiences.

Chennai Open's director Fernando Soler said in a media release that the organisers are thrilled with the tournament's venture outside the subcontinent.

"The presence of a strong line-up of players like Boris Becker, Carlos Moya, Richard Krajicek, Rafael Nadal, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi over the years indicates that the Chennai Open has gained respect throughout the tour," he said.
