Chidambaram to visit cyclone-hit villages today

Puducherry: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram will inspect cyclone Thane ravaged villages in the union territory of Puducherry on Tuesday.

Official sources said Chief Minister N Rangsamy would present a detailed report to Chidambaram on the damages, estimated at around Rs 2,000 crore, caused due to the cyclone.

Chidambaram was scheduled to tour the cyclone affected areas in Puducherry on Sunday. But it was cancelled due to inclement weather.
