BANGALORE: The Banashankari police have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly cheating a medical seat aspirant of Rs 15 lakh by promising him a seat in KIMS. The accused Rajeshwar Singh, is a native of Jammu and a resident of Bandra in Mumbai.The police said the accused in guise of an agent, contacted Ramesh Babu, a native of Andhra Pradesh and assured him of a medical seat in KIMS.He allegedly asked Babu to come to KIMS on Monday and bring `15 lakh in cash to pay the fees.As per Singh’s advise, Babu came to the city on Monday and after some time Singh also arrived in the city from Mumbai.Singh allegedly asked Babu to wait near KIMS, and took the cash from him, and left saying he would return after depositing the fees.But Singh did not return even after a few hours and growing suspicious, Babu informed the police.Based on the complaint, the police swung into action immediately and confirmed that Singh had already left to Mumbai.A team of cops managed to arrest Singh in Mumbai and recovered the `15 lakh cash from him.
