Haldwani, Uttaranchal: The Congress-led UPA Government has surrendered to terrorists and “dissected” the country along religious lines, said senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Monday.
''The government has bowed down to terrorists and has made a compromise with them,” said Joshi at the BJP's ‘Satta Parivartan Yatra’ (Regime Change March). ''The ruling party is destroying the financial and cultural heritage of the country''.
''It was the BJP's resolution that it would free the country from the menace of terrorism, but it has received encouragement under the Congress regime,'' he alleged.
Joshi, who was Human Resources Minister in the NDA Government, alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s recent speech on Muslims claim on the country’s resources amounted to the appeasing them.
''The government is dissecting the country on religious basis.'' Joshi alleged that illegal Bangladeshi immigrants were increasing in Uttaranchal but the Central and state governments were not worried.
Joshi alleged that Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari had failed to develop the State. “Tiwari's only achievement has been distributing lal battis (red beacon cars). Behind every successful man there is a woman. However, there is a woman behind the failures of Tiwari,'' UNI quote Joshi as saying .
Actor and BJP leader Smriti Irani and shooter Jaspal Rana attended the rally.
