BHUBANESWAR: The OPCC has demanded action against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the State Government on the basis of the special report of the Lokpal to Governor Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare. An eight-member delegation of the Congress led by OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik on Tuesday met the governor at the Raj Bhavan to press for the demand. The Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to the Governor in this regard.  The memorandum alleged that the State Government had not taken any action on the Lokpal’s report of March 17, 2011 on land acquisition for the proposed Vedanta university near Puri. It has also not acted on the special report of the Lokpal given on May 3.  Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh, deputy leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Chakradhar Paik, Opposition Chief Whip Prasad Harichandan, former ministers Narasingh Mishra, Kishore Chandra Patel and Nalini Kanta Mohanty, former MP Anant Prasad Sethi and senior leader Chiranjib Biswal were in the delegation.
