BANGALORE: The Congress will finalise its nominee for the Bellary Rural Assembly seat within a day or two for the byelections which would be held on November 30, KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar said.He said that party observers for the polls have submitted their report and recommended a few names to contest in the election. Coming down heavily against former minister B Sriramulu who had caused the byelection by resigning from the seat on flimsy reasons, Parameshwar said that it would burden the public exchequer.He criticised BJP leaders for making beeline to the Sriramulu’s house and begging him to take the party ticket. “It has demonstrated the political bankruptcy of the ruling BJP,” he said.Opining that there needs be a break on these practices, he added that “Let there be a debate on the subject and pave way for electoral reforms to prevent such scenario in future,” he said.The last date for submitting nominations to contest for the by-election is November 11.
