KOCHI: The over 20-day-old strike by the contract workers at the Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) was called off on Thursday.The details of the agreement are not immediately known. The strike was called off after the talks between the management and various unions of the Cochin Shipyard Ltd ended successfully, sources said.The strike caused a loss of Rs 100 crore to the CSL, sources said. The contract workers were engaged in docking, undocking and dock cleaning operation. About 2,000 contract workers, employed by the contractors, had gone on strike demanding a wage hike.The strike had hit various operations of the CSL, including the country's first indigenous air defence ship. Export orders for platform supply vessels and ship repair orders were also hit owing to the strike.
