Pathiraipaandi, who owns a poultry shop, said that he was not a staunch anti-KKNPP protestor but participated in the protest. Since March 19, as large contingents of police were deployed at Koodankulam, he closed his shop. However, he opened his shop if any one asked for poultry. He said on Monday, a KKNPP supporter Nesaraj said that he had instigated other shopkeepers to shut their shops. On Tuesday, Neseraj and Ponpandi came with a policeman who allegedly slapped him and threatened him to keep his shop open. He went to Idinthakarai for cover.
