New Delhi: The Special Investigating Team probing the Jessica Lall murder on Saturday seized certain documents from socialite Bina Ramani's South Delhi residence.
SIT officials took Ramani to her Saidulajav residence in the morning and scanned some of the files in her presence before seizing them.
She was arrested from Goa on Wednesday night in a case of forgery and cheating.
Stepping up the probe, police took her to Tamarind Court, where she ran the restaurant in which Lall was shot dead in April 1999.
Investigators allege she had procured the licence for running the restaurant on forged documents.
They continued questioning her for the second day on the alleged fake ration card she had produced for getting the licence and how it was prepared besides seeking details about the bills of articles she had purchased for the running of the restaurant.
Police are also planning to take her to Goa for recovery of some "forged documents" besides interrogating her on the alleged role she played in tampering with the evidence at the scene of crime in the restaurant.
Ramani was arrested after a court issued a non-bailable warrant against her in the case of cheating and forgery for acquiring a licence to run the restaurant.
Police had alleged that Ramani obtained the license misrepresenting that she was the owner of the restaurant named 'Qutub Colonade' on the basis of forged documents and served liquor without having any valid licence.
