HYDERABAD: The Nampally XIII additional chief metropolitan magistrate D Hemanth Kumar on Tuesday granted conditional bail to actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi’s son-in-law Sirish Bharadwaj asking him to appear before Central Crime Station (CCS) police once a week. Sirish’s wife Srija had lodged a complaint with the CCS on March 15 accusing her husband and mother-in-law of subjecting her to physical and mental torture. The women’s police station of CCS had then booked a case against Sirish under section 498-A (subjecting a married woman to cruelty) of Indian Penal Code. After absconding more than three months, Sirish surrendered before the family court at Nampally on July 27. Later, the court also gave him to the CCS for a two-day custody for interrogation. Yesterday, Sirish moved a petition seeking bail and the case came to hearing on Tuesday at the Nampally court. After hearing arguments, magistrate Hemanth Kumar granted conditional bail to Sirish asking him to report to the police every Sundays between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
