BANGALORE: The High Court on Tuesday ordered the State Government to file an affidavit in connection with the status of live bands in Bangalore city.
Hearing on a peition filed by Adam Sait who argued that live bands were still functioning in Bangalore city despite a ban, the division bench comprising of Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice Ashok Bangreppa Hinchigeri ordered the state government to file a counter affidavit before July 26 in this regard.CID Probe into Fake Mishap ClaimThe High Court ordered a Criminal Investigative Department (CID) probe into an alleged fake accident claim. A division bench headed by Justice K L Manjunath directed the Criminal Investigative Department to initiate appropriate measures in such cases as the court is taking up cases related to fake accident claims very often.The Criminal Investigative Department has also been directed to take steps to issue the copies of the first information reports (FIRs) soon after the accidents take place for the purpose of accident claims to avoid incidents of fake claims in future.The High Court passed thisorder while hearing a case wherein the wife of a deceased who died in a road accident allegedly claimed insurance amount of up to `27 lakhs by producing a number of fake documents.
