The BJP leader has been charged of giving inflammatory speech at a public meet during Lok Sabha elections in 2009.
A local court on Thursday issued summons to BJP general secretary Varun Gandhi in connection with a hate speech case lodged against him during Lok Sabha elections in 2009.
Although, the young BJP leader was acquitted in the all the three cases registered against him in the district, the Uttar Pradesh government had filed a review petition in the court.
District Judge BK Mishra issued notice to Varun and asked him to appear before it on November 18 in one of the three cases, prosecution said.
A case of giving inflammatory speech at a public meet was registered against him at Barkhera police station on March 4, 2009.
