Raipur: A court in Chhattisgarh on Monday acquitted all the 10 arrested accused in the 2010 Tadmetla Maoist attack case, in which 76 security personnel were killed in Dantewada district, due to lack of evidence.
Ten accused in the April 6 attack in which 76 security personnel, including 75 CRPF troopers, lost their lives, were acquitted by the court of additional district judge Anita Dahariya at Dantewada.
"Ten suspected Naxals were arrested within one month of the incident," additional public prosecutor Kshitij Dube said.
During the hearing, 43 witnesses of the state government in the case turned hostile, Dube said, adding that no witness was presented by the defence side.
The state police have said it will appeal in the High Court. "We will first access the copy of the judgement and later appeal to the high court," DGP Ramniwas said when contacted.
