New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested ML Gautam, a retired DDA employee for allegedly fudging 1200 Scheduled Caste applications out of which 40 were successful allottees.

Gautam is believed to have financed Deepak Kumar and Raju Ram, a property dealer, who was the fourth person to be arrested in the scam.

The trail has led to Bulandshaher in Uttar Pradesh where a bulk of the SC applications came from.

On Wednesday, The Delhi High Court declined to grant relief to Sainik Farm residents who had sought a direction restraining the DDA from razing their properties on the grounds that they were illegally constructed.

A division bench of Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah and Justice Sanjeev Khanna dismissed a petition filed by 38 residents who have constructed their houses in the Maidangarhi area and had sought court's order quashing DDA's December 16 notice for demolition of unauthorised structures.
