HYDERABAD: A brief message to local CBI officials from their headquarters in New Delhi on the morning of May 12, asking them to arrest industrialists and raid corporates considered close to Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the next two weeks, is what led the CBI to move swiftly against leading industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad, popularly known as Matrix Prasad.The strategy, top sources say, is to hit out at the financial pillars of Jagan Mohan Reddy, who are likely to fund the YSR Congress (YSRC) in the forthcoming byelections.Top sources within CBI confirmed to Express that they have got the clearance from CBI headquarters to go ahead and carry out arrest of industrialists in the next two weeks.The next possible targets on the radar of the CBI could well be Penna Pratap Reddy of Penna group of companies, who is named as accused No 13 in Jagan illegal assets case, I Shyam Prasad Reddy of Indu projects and Ramky group MD Ayodhya Reddy.Sources said till May 11, the local CBI team led by joint director VV Lakshminarayana had only planned to file yet another chargesheet in Jagan’s case and was busy giving final touches to it.However, the next morning, the entire plan changed after a message from the CBI headquarters, reportedly asking them to hurry up and arrest some industrialists.
