Delhi: Saket residents move HC over safety of homes due to metro trains
The residents of D-Block, Saket have moved the court fearing for the structural safety of their houses.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has sought response of the Centre on a plea by a South Delhi colony's residents who are worried over the structural safety of their homes due to metro trains running beneath their area.

The residents of D-Block, Saket have moved the court fearing for the structural safety of their houses. They are also aggrieved over the noise and vibration levels due to the metro trains running on the yellow line connecting Jahangirpuri here to HUDA City in Gurgaon.

Justice Manmohan issued notice to the Centre and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and sought their responses before the next date of hearing.

The court has also directed the petitioners, Anantmala Potdar and other residents of the area, to place on record the permissible levels of vibration and noise there by way of an affidavit.

The matter has been listed before the Registrar on July 7 for completion of pleadings, and, thereafter it will be listed before the court for hearing.
