KOZHIKODE: Raising concerns over the veracity of the ‘Devaprasnam’ held at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple last week to discern the will of the deity regarding the riches worth thousands of crores inside the temple vaults, members of the Bharatiya Jyothisastra Parishat said it was disgraceful for astrology that the information regarding huge wealth inside the temple was not revealed in earlier ‘Devaprasnam’.“Devaprasnam was held a number of times in the last several decades. However, none gave any hint on the treasure inside. It’s extremely disgraceful for astrology,” said Bharatiya Jyothisastra Parishat president Moolayil Mohandas Panicker, in a statement issued here.He said that the responsibility of conducting Devaprasnam solely lies with the Travancore Devaswom Board. Besides, complete details of ‘Devaprasnam’ are yet to be divulged to the public. Comprehensive information regarding ‘Thamboola Sankhya’ and ‘Thamboola Graham’ are not given, Panicker pointed out. He also raiseddoubts on the incident of astrologer suffering electric shock amidst the ritual and said, “such a thing neverhappens in Devaprasnam and we doubt whether it was purposefully shown as a bad omen”. Panicker said in his statement that the vault, which is yet to be opened, might contain documents on temple and its treasures and it might unfold the details regarding the illegal possession of temple wealth by various people.
