KURNOOL: The hill shrine of Srisailam wore a festive look as chants in praise of Lord Shiva reverberated on Sunday on the eve of Mahasivaratri.The Lord’s wedding would be performed at the temple on Monday midnight.About 4 lakh devotees have already arrived from various places of the state and neighbouring Karnataka and Maharashtra.Officials expect the pilgrim count for the festival to touch 10 lakh this year.Devotees are arriving by RTC buses and private vehicles while some in small groups are reaching the temple by trekking through the Nallamala forest.With the choultries and the accommodation provided by temple authorities fully occupied, many pilgrims have been forced to rest in the open.Silk Clothes from Govt: Endowments minister C Ramachandraiah on Sunday presented silk clothes to Lord Shiva here.
