HYDERABAD: The news coming from the Congress high command in Delhi that induction of PRP legislators _ C Ramachandraiah in particular _ into the Kiran Kumar Reddy's cabinet will take time has come as a music to the ears of a section of party leaders in the state. They celebrated the news at the Congress Legislature Party office by distributing among themselves sweets brought from Ongole. In the afternoon itself, it became clear that the cabinet expansion has been put off on the pretext that the PRP is yet to merge with the Congress.Even before the news broke out, medical and health minister DL Ravindra Reddy had sent a pack of sweets to JC Diwakar Reddy, who was at the CLP office, through Kamalapuram MLA Veerasiva Reddy.Incidentally, all the three are opposed to a cabinet berth to Ramachandraiah. As soon as Veerasiva Reddy arrived at the CLP office, he opened the sweet boxes and distributed them among themselves discussing what a great day it was that the cabinet expansion, particularly induction of Ramachandraiah, was put off.Veerasiva Reddy has been campaigning against Ramachandraiah that if MLCs are to be taken into the cabinet, Congress MLCs to should be given an opportunity. He called Ramachandraiah a dunce and said he was incapable of inspiring confidence even in his own castemen _ Kapu Balija. The PRP camp has, according to sources, remained crest-fallen as cabinet berths for their leader and for themselves are turning out to be as elusive as ever.Even the moves for Chiranjeevi's inclusion in the central cabinet was not taken kindly by some leaders.MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao had gone on record saying if the Congress chose to take Chiranjeevi into the central cabinet, it had also to consider several Congress leaders who rendered selfless service to the party.
