DYFI pays a price for violence

KOCHI: The High Court on Tuesday directed 35 DYFI activists to furnish a surety of `15 lakh under the Prevention of Destruction of Public Properties (PDPP) Act for vandalising the Kannur Collectorate during a recent agitation.Justice P S Gopinathan passed the order while considering the bail pleas of the DYFI activists.Along with the surety, the court imposed stringent bail conditions and directed them to execute personal bonds for `15,000 each with two sureties for the like amount.
