Elephant hit by train, dies

BERHAMPUR: An elephant died when a goods train hit it near Humma on Friday night.Sources said the elephant was crossing the area when it came on the railway track and was hit by the train.After the  mishap the goods train was detained by the locals for over two hours and was released only after police and forest officials persuaded them. The forest sleuths buried the carcass after autopsy today.
