Fire on train, 3 bogies damaged

HYDERABAD: Three bogies of a local train were destroyed in a fire at the Falaknuma railway station here on Saturday. No casualties were reported in the fire that broke on a local train parked for maintenance.According to fire service officials, the fire broke out on the Umdabad-Falaknuma local train around 12.45 pm. Soon after receiving an alert from the railway officials on the mishap, the fire service personnel led by Karimuddin, Hyderabad district fire officer, rushed to the spot. “It took at least two-and-a-half hours to put off the flames emanating from the local train. The reason for the mishap is yet to be ascertained,’’ said Karimuddin.
