Mumbai: 'Force', starring John Abraham, received a good opening at the box office worldwide with the film's collection in the first week hitting Rs 22 crore, including Rs 16 crore from India, trade analysts said here today.
"John has silenced his critics and now moved into the league of the best action heroes of our time," producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah of Sunshine Pictures said.
Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios which distributed the film said, "We hope the movie to have a long run at the box office."
Recently, John Abraham has started to experiment with his roles. '7 Khoon Maaf' had shown him as a fallen rockstar whop uses Priyanka Chopra for his own interests. Similarly, 'Aashayein' by Nagesh Kukunoor portrayed him as a character who is suffering from cancer and who knows that the death is nearing with each passing moment. Abraham donned the character of a man who is afraid of death in a satisfactory manner and showed the latent potential as an actor.
