From world leaders, corporate czars to senior diplomats and the who’s who of global celebrity, the Ambani family played the perfect hosts to a galaxy of stars over the course of the three-day wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai.
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and wife Nita Ambani, tied the knot with Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on Friday, followed by a ‘Shubh Ashirwad’ ceremony on Saturday and ‘Mangal Utsav’ on Sunday.
Former British prime ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, as well as Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, American wrestler and actor John Cena, Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan were among the celebrities who attended the ceremonies on Friday and Saturday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi blessed the newlyweds at the Saturday reception.
A video montage posted on Instagram by paparazzo Manav Manglani showed members of the Ambani family greeting their guests at the ceremonies. It showed Mukesh Ambani engaged in a moment with former US Secretary of State John Kerry and actor Amitabh Bachchan. It also showed the Reliance Industries Chairman hugging and welcoming former UK prime minister Tony Blair. Isha Ambani’s husband Anand Piramal is also seen greeting Tony Blair.

The groom, 29-year-old Anant, oversees the conglomerate’s renewable and green energy expansion. He also runs a 3,000-acre animal rescue center, named ‘Vantara’ in Gujarat’s Jamnagar, the family hometown. The bride, also 29, is the marketing director for Encore Healthcare.
The attendees included Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Ranbir Kapoor; cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav.
Indian politicians who attended the wedding included Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and Shiv Sena (UBT) head Uddhav Thackeray.
