Gen-Y films: Bye Munni, Sheila, hi mutton song!
Not Munni, not Sheila, it's time for the 'mutton song' from the movie 'Love Ka The End'.

New Delhi: Not Munni, not Sheila, it's time for the new item - mutton - this is what the promo of the 'the mutton song' from the movie 'Love Ka The End' claims.

With new, young actors and out-of-the-box wicked dialogues and songs, filmmakers of the present times are out with a clear message, that they want to appeal to the young audience.

With slangs popular with the college-going crowd, to songs and dialogues with 'beeps', the new age filmmakers are putting their best foot forward to be a part of the 'sutta break' conversations of the youth.

While Remo D Souza's 'Faltu' did not do as well with the critics, its song 'Party Ab Bhi Baaki Hai' became a rage among the ‘Let’s Party’ generation.

Another movie’s promo that has been making the Generation Y go gaga is 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama'.

Directed by Luv Ranjan, the movie has a fresh star cast with its promos showing nasty conversations among frustrated lovers. The movie hits theatres on May 20 but the trailer is already a rage on the Internet.

The film has interesting conversations by its geeky protagonists trashing love with dialogues such as "relationship ka matlab hi hota hai an end to your own happiness" (the meaning of relationship is an end to your own happiness). It has the tag line 'fall out of love'.

The filmmakers are making an effort to move out of the bounds of popcorn flicks to portray the complexities of relationships with sarcastic humour.

After Dibakar Banerjee's 'Love, Sex aur Dhokha' became a super hit, the ‘go-young’ factor has become so popular that even big banners like Yash Raj films are entering the market under its new banner Y-Films that caters to the youth. The first movie of the banner being 'Love Ka The End'.

The movie with an all new star cast and directed by Bumpy, who was the director of Roadies, is doing the rounds with its item number ‘The Mutton Song’.

Releasing on May 6, the film is an experiment with no mainstream actor, and if it clicks, Yash Raj is certainly ready to rock not just the family audience, but also the young hip crowd.

What's your reaction?
