Government employees to get pay today

HYDERABAD: The state government is firm on invoking the ‘No Work No Pay’ rule against the striking Telangana employees.It has decided to pay salaries to all the government staff on Saturday based on their attendance.Accordingly, Telangana employees who have been on strike for the T cause since September 13, will get salaries for the first 12 days of the month only.According to finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, necessary instructions have been given to the treasury department for payment of salaries to the employees based on their attendance.The exact number of government staff who got their salaries and the number of days they worked in September, will be known on October 2.All salary bills received by the treasuries will be cleared.It is learnt that about 85 per cent of Telangana employees (3.5 lakh) who have been taking part in Sakala Janula Samme since September 13, do not get full salary.The staff attendance in government offices of Telangana districts is virtually nil.There is some staff attendance in government offices of Hyderabad city only.Pensions will also be paid to beneficiaries on October 1.If there is any shortfall in revenue to the state exchequer due to the ongoing T employees’ strike, it can be managed by the government. The financial position of the state is satisfactory despite Sakala Janula Samme, the finance minister said.
