HYDERABAD: Congress parliamentarian V Hanumantha Rao has urged chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to take the initiative to assist the CBI quicken its investigation into the cases of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's wealth, iron ore mining and APIIC-Emaar scam."I request the chief minister to write a letter to the Centre to accord permission to the CBI to prosecute the IAS officers listed as accused in the case," Rao told reporters here on Tuesday. He said chief minister was showing a lot of enthusiasm in encouraging the ACB to investigate the illegal activities of liquor syndicates in the state. "I want him to show the same level of enthusiasm to help the CBI conduct its investigation. As clearances are awaited from the Centre, the CBI is unable to proceed against the civil servants and the pace of investigation is affected.''Asked if his campaign against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy might hinder the possible bifurcation of the state since there is a campaign now that a vote for Jagan is a vote for division of the state, the Telangana leader said he did not Jagan's party to win the byelections. "That a vote for Jagan is a vote of bifurcation is the view of only some leaders,'' he said. Rao wanted Congress leaders to target both Jagan Moan Reddy and his late father with equal vehemence.
