New Delhi: Taking note of the objections and protests expressed in Parliament over the contents of NCERT textbooks in Hindi, the Government on Wednesday announced setting up a review committee under the chairmanship of professor Yashpal.
The review committee has been asked to review the Hindi textbooks in the light of the objections raised and recommend any improvement or revision that may be considered necessary.
The Committee has five members in professor Mrinal Miri, who is chairman of the National Monitoring Committee, Rajya Sabha Member Nirmala Deshpande, eminent Hindi writer Krishna Sobti, Eminent Kannada writer professor UR Ananthamurthy and Ashok Vajpayee, the former vice chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University.
The committee is expected to submit its report by September 30.
