Haryana government meets Jat leaders to defuse another round of quota protests
The Union Home Ministry is in regular touch with the Haryana government on Jat protests.

Even as Jats threaten to start agitating again demanding reservation under the Other Backward Caste category, the Haryana Government is holding talks with the community leaders in Chandigarh to defuse the situation.

According to sources, the Centres assessment suggests that Jat leaders may not enforce their deadline strictly of starting the protests by Friday evening if their demands are not met.

The Union Home Ministry is in regular touch with the Haryana government on Jat protests. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has spoken to Chief Minister ML Khattar and also briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Centre has also asked the state government to enforce rule of law strictly and now allow the protesters to take the alw in their hands.

Meanwhile, the state government has taken several precautionary measures. Mobile internet services have been suspended in Rohtak, Jhajjar and Sonipat districts.

Sources said that 30 companies of the central paramilitary forces have already been sent to Haryana and three have been sent to secure the Munak canal which supplies water to Delhi.

Section 144 has been imposed in Rohtak and Hisar districts.
