HYDERABAD: The latest round of Telangana stir had its impact on the civic services in the city. Though the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) remained relatively untouched, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), the Rangareddy and Hyderabad district collectorates were hit even if only partially.Citizens, who went to the HMDA Tarnaka office for paying LRS amount, change of land use and building permissions had to return home. Similarly, those who went to the collectorate offices for enquiries on pensions, ration cards, no objection certificates and other services had to return empty-handed.At the Rangareddy collectorate, almost all the employees and officials stayed away from duties and staged protests. In the Hyderabad collectorate, half of the employees took part in the strike. A majority of the HMDA and outer ring road employees skipped duties after signing the attendance register. The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh said it will decide its future course of action next week. Till then, normal services like sanitation, road maintenance and other works will not be hit.
